After confirmation of Zika viral infection in Air Force personnel in Kanpur, Zika wing has been made in Halat. In the maternity block where corona patients were being kept, 10 beds have been reserved for Zika patients. Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. RK Maurya said that kits are also being procured for testing Zika.

Along with this, a team of experts of medicine has been constituted. Dr. Maurya told that the microbiology department of GSVM Medical College has machines, but there is no kit. The investigation will be started by ordering the kit. If a patient with symptoms of Zika comes, his sample will be sent to Lucknow for examination.


Specialists will treat the patient, rest is all arrangements. At the same time, Ursala's CMS Dr. Anil Nigam told that beds are currently reserved for Zika in the hall but there is complete preparation in Ursala too. There is a team of doctors and a system of medicines. Treatment will be started upon arrival of the patient.


Youth dies due to food poisoning, 11 dengue patients

The youth died on Sunday due to food poisoning. With this, 11 new dengue patients have been found. There are 48 active dengue cases in the city. Samples of 36 fever patients have been sent for dengue test in the camps set up at 14 places of the health department. Malaria test of 239 samples was done, the report of all is negative.


Dengue patients have been found in Goa Garden, Kalyanpur, Barra, Makanpur, Ilyaspur, Khadamau, Mazhawan and Surauli. The total number of dengue infected in the city has gone up to 433. Vishnu (27), a patient of abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea in Bidhnu's Taksimpur, died at Bidhnu CHC. His brother Lal Singh's condition is critical.


He has been referred to Halat. It is believed that the patients got food poisoning. Other members of the house, Hari Om, Shagun and Pooja are undergoing treatment at the CHC. No corona infected was found in the city on Sunday. There is one active corona patient in the city.
