Bhoot Police: Staggering narrative on a fresh premise

0

Directed by Pawan Kriplani, the horror-comedy film, Bhoot Police, makes its intentions clear from the very beginning. Vibhuti (Saif Ali Khan) and Chironji (Arjun Kapoor) are two brothers who are earning money by becoming exorcists themselves and relying on people's belief in spirits and supernatural powers.

Younger brother Chironji is eager to follow his father's legacy and is a fan of his genuine interest in tantric scriptures. But elder brother Vibhuti never took the religious aspects of his business seriously.

Together they raid several haunted places and keep people with them. While they expose the deceit of their targets, the beliefs of those around them are left untouched because this gives them room to defraud people and obtain more money.

Vibhuti and his brother have always managed to disguise wherever they go, until they are faced with a very complex and difficult challenge and that is the crux of the story.

The film promises a new treat for a Hindi film of late, by introducing an unusual premise of exorcism and tantric practices. The narrative picks up pace as the story progresses and humor elements are scattered here and there.

However, the plot faces a grinding halt with attempts to make it hilarious on several occasions. But here it is the only way to do it.

Jacqueline Fernandez and Yami Gautam are equally important in the plot in terms of dramatic progress. There are enough incidents to scare your mind and music plays a big part in this.

Saif's performance with years of experience and Arjun Kapoor's well-organized nuances make the film worth watching, but only once.
